COVID-19 Communication

6/29/2020

It has been a while since my last memo and the first thing I want you to know is that, fortunately, most of our employees and their families have remained healthy, and Rescar  and AllTranstek have remained busy and financially successful. Nevertheless, we need to continue to stay focused on the safe practices we have put in place at work, and you really need to remember to carry those practices over to your personal life especially as we head into the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Celebrate Responsibly:
I am sure you heard about and saw some of the celebrations over the Memorial Day weekend with people at pool bars, clubs, and on beaches packed in and not practicing social distancing. Most experts attribute the current surge in cases in some states directly to people not practicing social distancing that weekend.  This weekend, the country celebrates Independence Day and people may once again ignore social distancing and choose to engage in more reckless behavior. The good news is that you can still enjoy the Holiday and celebrate with friends and family but you need to be smart and continue to practice the COVID-19 preventative measures that  you have been doing:

•     Remember to wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
•     Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
•     Avoid close contact with people and especially anyone who is sick.
•     Wear a mask when out in public when you cannot maintain 6’ distance.

In addition, when it comes to attending Fourth of July celebrations:

•     Follow your state’s current re-opening guidelines with respect to the size of group
gatherings allowed.
•     Remember to drink responsibly and DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE.
•     Be on the “look out” for people around you who are not being responsible and move away or avoid interacting with them.
•     Stay hydrated – drink water on a regular basis as other beverages do not hydrate you.

It is really important to stay focused on safety at work this week with the distraction of the upcoming weekend. I said above that we have been fortunate but there is a famous saying that “Diligence is the mother of good fortune,” and your diligence has been the key to our success.  Thank you and have fun and be safe.
